Finals Night Report
Mark Drew Memorial Trophy
Carpenters Arms'B' 10 - 11 Leonord Stanley 'A'
The final of the Mark Drew Memorial Trophy was played between The Carpenters Arms 'B' and Leonard Stanley 'A'. In one of the best finals in its short history, this match went right to the wire. LS edged into a 7-5 lead before Chris Wrenn won his match 3-0 including a 180 to nudge The Carps ahead. In the final match BJ triumphed 2-1 for Leonard Stanley to tie the game at 9-9.
For the decider, The Carps captain Chris Wren picked himself whilst his counterpart BJ put on Mark Hanlon.
The first leg went to Mark for LS and after Mark missed numerous doubles to win the second, Chris pounced to take the match into sudden death, which Mark won taking out double top.
Singles Knockout
Semi-Final
Steve Poulter 2-1 Kirk Hiam
Mark Workman 2-1 Mark Hanlon
Final
Mark Workman 2-1 Steve Poulter
In an exciting singles final Steve took the first leg including a 180 and Mark drew level by taking the second leg finishing on 47(T15, D1??).
The deciding leg, both players had chances to win. Steve missed D20, D10 and D5 to leave himself on 5, while Mark had D20 to win, but the dart crept into D5. Steve then missed 5 and Mark hit D15 to claim this years title.
A great night was had by all. The evening was very well attended and over £90 was raised for charity by auctioning John 'Boy signed dartboards.
Special thanks to Steve and Jane for letting us use the Carps and putting on an excellent spread. Bill Campbell for calling out all night. John Nichols for comparing the auction and Special thanks to John 'Boy' Walton for appearing at our presentation night.
See you all next year...Shane

Friday 13th June
The Carpenters Arms 'A' pulled off a masterstroke last night with their new signing. Former Embassy World Champion John 'Boy' Walton. He played for them in their match against The Ship.

Wednesday 11th June
Due to not being able to raise a team, the Matchplay 'A' have pulled out of Division 1. The one match that they played v's Leonard Stanley 'A' has been scrubbed from the records and the table altered accordingly. This means that there is now a bye fixture in Division 1. A suggestion perhaps is the teams each week in Div 1 & 2 with the bye contact each other and organise a friendly.
